SplashShopper Review for iPhone and iPod Touch

From Appmodo:

In addition to groceries....there are plenty of other types of lists you can make, and SplashShopper has databases for most all of those categories. Even in the movies database, SplashShopper has meta data about each movie that is already automatically filled in for you.

Another cool thing about the SplashShopper app is the compliment of a PC or Mac-based app that makes it easy to sync and backup your lists to your computer. Simply open up the PC-client and sync your device and the lists will sync-up.

Manage Your Holiday Madness With SplashShopper Application

From GearDiary:

Splashopper, which is available for iPhone, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, Palm OS (Treo/Centro), Windows and Mac (I would hate to be an app developer these days, wouldn’t you?–all those platforms!), is a shopping manager. It helps you manage different types of shopping lists, from groceries to gift shopping. If you get the handheld ($4.99) and desktop ($9.95) versions, you can sync between the desktop and handheld lists, which sounds pretty slick, honestly.

SplashShopper for BlackBerry review

From PDA-247:

SplashShopper is almost legendary in the PDA world and have been the staple list manager for many thousands of mobile users over the past few years. It has now arrived on the BlackBerry platform, so I guess this is a good time to test it out and see how well it performs.

As you would expect, a Windows desktop version is included and the asking price for the complete set up is $29.95, or $59.95 when bought in the SplashWallet suite which also includes SplashID, SplashPhoto and SplashMoney. I think the price is reasonable considering the potential benefits of this title and the pricing of equivalent BlackBerry titles.

SplashShopper review

From PalmAddicts:

SplashShopper is a shopping list manager that's available for PalmOS, Windows Mobile, iPhone, BlackBerry, Windows, and MacOSX. If you haven't tried out a shopping list on your smartphone, why not?! There just isn't a better, more convenient place to put your shopping list, and with SplashShopper available for so many platforms, you've just run out of excuses. Go grab the 30-day trial, then come back and finish my review.SplashShopper is a one-stop-shop for all your list making needs. To get you started, SplashData has included a handful of example lists ranging from Books, Movies, and Music to the all-important Groceries. They've even populated these example lists with a number of items to get you started, which is especially helpful with a grocery list. Now, anyone who's been reading my PalmAddict posts long enough probably knows how much I like making lists. Natara Bonsai is pretty much my favorite piece of software. But for handling shopping lists, you go to a dedicated shopping list app. And, remarkably, SplashShopper has more features than this compulsive list-maker can use. Each item in your list can contain a name, a store, a category, two custom fields (for groceries, Splashdata has suggested a description and an aisle), a quantity and unit of measure, a price and a note. Considering the number of fields in this database, Splashdata has wisely incorporated both an auto-fill feature, and a customizable fly-down list for each field. Despite this complexity, adding new items to your grocery list is pretty quick and easy. If you are an even more compulsive person than I am (astounding, really, but possible), you might actually track the price and aisle information of every item on your shopping list. By doing so, SplashShopper can give you a quick total cost estimate, or even organize your list by aisle, so you can shop more efficiently. That greatly exceeds my needs, but it's terrific to see that sort of attention to detail.

SplashShopper reviewed on a Centro

From TreoCentral:

For many of us, a shopping list is something scribbled on a notepad or Post-it that’s crammed into a pocket and pulled out when visiting a store. Upon returning home, and sometimes the minute you’ve walked out of the store, that list gets crumpled and tossed away. Yeah, the idea of "reduce, reuse and recycle" doesn't come into play with this approach.

Along came Apple's App store, and with it a reminder that there are all kinds of ways you can accomplish things quickly and efficiently from your smartphone. Those of us carrying a Centro or Treo may suffer from iPhone envy due to the sheer volume of affordable apps that are available for that platform. Rather than waste energy on wistful ponderments, we ought to focus on some of the many apps that have been developed for the Palm OS platform over the years (remember... Palm came first!).

So with that in mind, and after having such an awesome experience with SplashData's SplashPhoto app, I thought I'd give SplashShopper (SRP $29.95) a try.

It is described as an app that "offers a powerful and easy way to manage everything from grocery shopping to holiday gift lists to keeping track of DVD rentals." First introduced seven years ago, in February 2002, this app lets you manage multiple shopping lists on a Palm OS handheld and desktop computer.

SplashShopper Review

From PalmAddicts:

SplashShopper provides a clean interface of an extremely useful data manager. The roots are obviously a glorified grocery shopping list, but the possibilities are really quite diverse given the great way in which the program is laid out. Need to organize a library (eg: books, magazines,, etc., those things you hold in your hand, curl the edges of the pages, write in the margins, etc.), SplashShoppper has a way to do it.

Trying to single-handedly break the recession by going on a shopping spree to end all shopping sprees, but still want the best price? This software helps you to organize what you saw, where, at which price. Doesn’t have to clothes and shoes; it could be software and gadgets on main street or the ‘net. Decided to move up from Bacardi Breezers to bottles of wine which have a label that don’t attract the local winos to your side? This software can help you remember the name, vintage, price, place of purchase, etc.

The programmers had a bit of fun as well by including a wide choice of icons to show which things on the “All” list have been chosen to go on the “Need” list. Nine possible columns of information can be seen, and the user can choose to sort the list you’ve created by whichever column you’d like. Probably you’d only show three or four at a time, but that still gives a great deal of flexibility. Preplanned categories of lists include Books, Chinese Food, Clothes, Gifts, Groceries, Movies, Music, Travel Checklist, and Wine.

SplashShopper for BlackBerry helps organize both shopping and gift giving

From GearDiary:

SplashShopper is a brilliant little program I use on both my iPhone and BlackBerry. The software organizes my grocery list and holiday gift giving. In the past I’ve done a lot of last minute buying only because I’d failed to make a proper list leading up to the holidays. Not so this year. I’ve tailored SplashShopper as outlined on the next page - to track the people who I need to buy gifts for.SplashShopper allows for multiple lists. As you can see from the following screen shot, it can be tailored to track your CD list, clothing, wine and even book collection.
