In true “American Idol“ style, this is a chance to showcase your talent using iSing, a unique app that presents your singing talents to a worldwide audience.
To enter, use iSing to record a 30 second clip of a song of your choice, fill out a few personal details about yourself and upload the clip to the app server.
The winning entry will be the one with the highest rating at the end of the competition period, so get your friends voting for your entry! How does that part work? You can either vote directly on a selected clip or listen to the whole recording and give it your thumbs up or thumbs down.

The iSing app is fun and can be enjoyed by all ages. Families can listen together, just as they do when they watch American Idol. I highly doubt that I will ever attempt to add a song to iSing because even my family would probably give me a thumbs down. But I am having fun both listening and voting. Some of the singers are actually very good. Especially now, with a few months to go until Idol begins again, you can replicate the experience with iSing.

An iPhone software developer is trying to turn the "anybody can sing" craze triggered by
American Idol and
America's Got Talent into an online social networking craze.
And, I admit, the more I think about that, the more terrifying it becomes. Take the first couple weeks of Idol shows with all of the bad auditions and multiply them by the endless fool factor of the Internet.
iSing (created by Island Labs and available in Apple's iTunes store), enables anyone with an iPhone or iPod touch to record a 30-second audition. Singers then publish it and watch for their recording "to climb the charts as their 'fans' vote for (or against) it in this worldwide competition for stardom" (all according to an Island Labs release). You don't win anything but "stardom," should you do well.
